Charitable Givings Director

The Charitable Giving Director is responsible for the generation of gift income for the support of Friendship Village of Dublin. Position is responsible for projecting a positive public image of FVD through professional conduct and communications, while maintaining confidentiality where appropriate.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree preferred.  Professional certification (CFRE) preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience in successful fundraising programs.
  • Knowledge of and experience in major gifts and planned giving.
  • High degree of initiative and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.
  • Flexible and adaptable style to meet the expectations of prospective donors.
  • Ability to work independently without close oversight.
  • Team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside Friendship Village of Dublin.
  • High energy and passion for the resident centered mission of Friendship Village of Dublin.
  • Desire to work with a geriatric population.  Previous experience working in senior living, a plus.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build and steward relationships with residents, their families and other potential donors to raise contributions for all philanthropic vehicles at Friendship Village of Dublin. This includes overseeing solicitation of annual gifts, major gifts and planned gifts, as well as regional fundraising and creation of a proposal for funding. It is the responsibility of the Charitable Giving Director to match the philanthropic goals of donors with the giving opportunities of the Friendship Village of Dublin.
  • Create and sustain capitol campaigns and annual giving programs that encourage gifts to the Village’s existing funds and any new funds established during the associate’s tenure. Work with local organizations that benefit from any funds and facilitate the relationship between those organizations as well as resident and staff volunteers from the Friendship Village of Dublin.
  • Identify and cultivate potential major gift donors. Meet in person with these donors and their families to determine their interests and how they might align with the giving opportunities at the Village.
  • Identify and cultivate potential planned gift donors, and steward existing Legacy Society members.  Provide information and education about planned gifts on a regular basis and meet with donor’s financial planners, legal counsel or families as warranted to help develop planned giving vehicles to benefit Friendship Village of Dublin.
  • Work with individuals who are volunteering for the benefit of the Charitable Giving Program to build and sustain a successful fundraising program. These persons may include residents, board members, fellow staff members and/or resident family members.

Hours include: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
