IT Manager

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the community I.T. Technicians, providing advanced technical support and coordinating solution planning for day to day community needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Essential Job Duties (include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Manages and oversees activities of community I.T. technician.
  • Designs and develops solutions for community I.T. issues/needs.
  • Serves as an escalation for I.T. community staff technical issues.
  • Coordinates resources and executes projects and lifecycle upgrades.
  • Supports and maintains resident safety systems.
  • Maintains network security by ensuring proper account creation/deletion, managing share permissions and monitoring antivirus logs.
  • Configures and monitors community backups to ensure data is properly backed up and manages network print server.
  • Communicates with phone system vendor on system maintenance and repairs.
  • Establishes and/or maintains relationships with service vendors.
  • Supervises information system and communications network.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains a network infrastructure for local and wide area connectivity and remote access.
  • Consults with administration, department managers, and manufacturing representatives to exchange information, present new approaches, and to discuss equipment/system changes.
  • Participates in vendor contract negotiations for all new computer equipment and software purchased for Friendship Village Dublin.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the information technology department including directing staff, who support administrative computing, networking, user services, telecommunications, and other information technology functions.
  • Assesses and anticipates technology projects and recommend appropriate action and resources.
  • Proposes hardware/software solutions to accomplish the community’s business objectives.
  • Identifies user needs and resolve problems.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

· Two or Four-year college degree in a technical field is preferred, technical certifications and/or equivalent experience

· Candidates should show evidence of an inclination towards continuous learning

Experience:

· A minimum of 3 years of relevant IT experience

· Thorough knowledge of typical business I.T. Environment and Procedures

· Leadership experience and the ability to guide and manage the workloads of others

· Proven experience with project management

· Knowledge of networking, server administration, and phone systems

· Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints, as well as deal appropriately with emotional customer service situations

· Must have a strong customer service focus

· Must have the temperament to work under pressure in a demanding and changing environment
