Our Rowan House Memory Care community recently received Bronze certification as a Montessori-inspired Lifestyle Community from the Center for Applied Research in Dementia.

Dr. Evan Shelton, Center for Applied Research in Dementia

Dr. Shelton is a skilled speaker, applied researcher and instructor. He believes that persons with dementia can live well despite their illness and that non-pharmacological care practices have tremendous potential to improve their lives.

At the Center, Dr. Shelton oversees the development of new products and services, assesses the effectiveness of CARD’s care practices and conducts live and virtual dementia training. Previously, he worked as a pre-doctoral research fellow at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at John Carroll University, and as the Director of Brain Health at a large CCRC in Northeast Ohio.
