Cook’s Assistant

What you’ll be doing:

  • Growing your career through our Grant Program!
  • Review menu process involved with the dietitian in reviewing menus for nutritional quality, portion requirements, serving sizes, and menu extensions for special diets.
  • Show what steps are necessary to ensure proper food and supply storage.Use good judgment and professionalism in plate presentation for all areas. Includes proper garnish, potion control, food quality and temperature.
  • Responsible for quality assurance including monitoring food temps. On an ongoing basis, proper rotation of stock to prevent spoilage and to prevent over preparation of food. Prepare items for the following day menu. Assist utility workers in the closing the kitchens

Landscape Senior Tech

  • Maintains all aspects of community landscaping including trees, shrubs, perennials, flowering annuals, planting, turfgrass management, mowing, core aeration, mulching, edging, pruning, seeding, sodding, leaf removal and disposal, etc.
  • Completes pesticide applications (e.g., insecticide, fungicide, and herbicide) as needed to maintain health of plants.
  • Applies fertilizer as needed for turfgrass and flowering annuals to support nutritional health.
  • Operates and maintains all seasonal equipment: trucks, trailer, skid steer loader, utility vehicle, tractor, mowers, core aerator, vacuums, backpack blowers, string trimmers, gas powered shears, power tools, water pumps and tank, tillers.
  • Operates and maintains winter equipment: trucks, plows, skid steer loader, snow box, utility vehicles, tractor, blowers, de-icing equipment.
  • Keeps property clear of snow and ice to maintain safe community for residents, associates, and visitors throughout the winter season.
  • Interacts daily with Landscape Supervisor and Landscape Team, assists with development of daily tasks and strategies, involved with and assists landscape associates to encourage production, teamwork, and morale. Frequently involved with contractors scheduling, oversight, productivity, and install quality.
  • Reports potential problems, concerns, hazards, incidents or accidents to Landscape Manager or HR within 24 hours.
  • Maintains building gutters clear of debris and leaves, power washing where needed.
  • Places, maintains, and stores outdoor furniture.
  • Occasionally supports other FVD departments as circumstances require. Advises and informs Landscape Supervisor of any issue relating to property or landscaping personnel. Performs any duties or responsibilities that circumstances require and/or as assigned by Landscape Manager.

Security Guard

What you’ll be doing:

  •  Make rounds to monitor inside and outside of building, according to established procedures; walk through all residential and non-residential areas of the building periodically; be visible in proper uniform. Report any unusual conditions to the Plant Director.
  • Communicate at shift change with oncoming officers; exchange any relevant information to keep other security personnel and/or Plant Director informed. Keep shift log up-to-date and completed by the end of the shift.
  • Complete required reports, including training reports for fire drills, and safety/fire inspection reports as needed.
  • Lock and unlock doors at required times; check all doors required to be locked; if you find unlocked doors, lock them and write it on the report log; close and lock windows as required.
  • Respond to resident emergency call system. Determine if 911 has been called by resident or should be called immediately. Stay with resident until nurse arrives to resident’s apartment and follow nurse’s instruction, EXCEPT in case of fire.
