Every great community has a heartbeat: someone who unites people, remembers your name, and makes you feel seen. At Friendship Village of Dublin, that’s Miranda Hawkins.
At this year’s Associate Holiday Party, we recognized Miranda as our 2025 Associate of the Year. This award honors her energy, warmth, and gift for uniting our community.
Miranda sits at the front desk, but she is the center of everything. She notices stories, snacks, and birthdays. She greets everyone like family and makes Residents feel at home from the moment they arrive.
“When I say, ‘It Takes a Village,’ I imagine everyone coming together to tackle challenges across departments,” says Betsy Gillespie, our Director of Community Engagement and Philanthropy.
“Miranda has this rare ability to make everyone feel like the most important person in the building. This is a unique gift, and we are lucky to have her here.”
When asked what keeps her going, Miranda focused on our Residents.
“Getting to really know the Residents and build that special relationship makes me feel blessed. It brings me joy to feel valued, trusted, and loved.”
“When someone stops just to say ‘Hi,’ asks how I’m doing, or smiles, it makes my day,” she adds. “I really look forward to being here. The kind words and smiles are the best!”
Residents, associates, and visitors feel her genuine attention in every interaction.
As one Resident put it, “Miranda doesn’t just work here. She belongs here.”
