It’s no secret that Friendship Village of Dublin has an amazing culinary program, but what people may not realize is how great the desserts are – especially the ice cream. How much do our residents love ice cream? According to Director of Culinary Services, Don Paul, Friendship Village spends a total of $100,000 on ice cream and coffee each year!
Because of the amount we spend on ice cream, Friendship Village of Dublin was awarded with the 2016 Golden Scoop Award from Hershey’s Ice Cream. Don Paul says the reason ice cream and coffee are so popular with the residents is because of the social aspect – residents love having good conversation over a delicious scoop of ice cream or cup of coffee.
The top ice cream flavors in the community are butter pecan, coffee and raspberry chip.
Next time you’re eating at Friendship Village of Dublin, be sure to end your meal with our award-winning ice cream!
