It’s the season of giving — whether it is time spent, gifts bought or donations made. At Friendship Village of Dublin, charitable giving is always top of mind, but the holidays bring additional opportunities for our generous residents and staff.
Check out how Friendship Village of Dublin is gearing up for the holiday season and how these charitable events will impact our community.
Back for Another Year! Annual Holiday Bazaar
A beloved tradition for residents and staff, Friendship Village of Dublin’s annual Holiday Bazaar is hosted by the arts committee each November. Featuring resident-made gifts such as scarves, stained-glass artwork and woodworking projects available, the community is able to support the efforts of the arts committee through the purchase of these authentic pieces.
Traditions Continue with Community Greetings
Many years ago, residents started the tradition of partnering with Friendship Village Charitable Giving to produce a community greeting in lieu of holiday cards. This tradition continues in 2019 where residents will have the opportunity to support one of the charitable funds in November and December.
A New Giving Opportunity: Giving Tuesday
Following the annual Holiday Bazaar, Friendship Village of Dublin will participate in its first GivingTuesday, a global giving movement held on Tuesday, December 3. On GivingTuesday, residents, associates and those outside the community will have the opportunity to discuss the impact of philanthropy on our lives and in our community.
Impacting Our Community
Once the holiday season comes to an end, Friendship Village of Dublin will distribute the donations collected across numerous community-focused efforts.
Resident Benevolence Fund
Friendship Village of Dublin is dedicated to quality care for residents in all seasons of life. The Resident Benevolence Fund provides financial support to residents experiencing unforeseen financial hardships, ensuring them a safe, comfortable home during a difficult time.
Scholarship Opportunities
Each year, educational scholarships are provided by Friendship Village of Dublin to hardworking associates looking to further their education. Along with the community, the arts committee also uses funds collected from the Holiday Bazaar to create a scholarship for associates interested in the arts.
Community Projects
Along with the funds mentioned above, generous contributions made by donors also impact efforts that assist Friendship Village of Dublin in supporting health services, community life and construction projects. These funds include the Rea and Genell Secrest Health Services Fund, Community Enrichment Fund and Capital Projects Fund.
Through these charitable giving efforts, Friendship Village of Dublin continues to invest in the future of those who call the community home. To learn more about how you can become involved, visit https://www.fvdublin.org/donate-now/.
