At Friendship Village of Dublin, that spirit of gratitude is present year-round—in conversations between neighbors, meals shared around a table, and small acts of care that connect our community.

For more than 40 years, older adults have found comfort, connection, and a sense of belonging in our community. Whether they’re building new friendships, exploring new interests, or enjoying the ease of a maintenance-free lifestyle, Residents live with purpose and peace of mind.

We invited a few Residents to share what makes them feel thankful to be part of our community. What follows are their reflections—honest, personal, and full of the friendship and gratitude that define life here.

“The best decision we ever made.”

Now enjoying her independence, Nancy values the secure, vibrant environment around her. “Security, safety, comfort, polite and pleasant staff, emergency help if needed, a wide variety of entertainments to select from, beauty in and out of the buildings… plus my comfortable apartment and lovely friendships. No regrets.”

“We feel so fortunate to live here.”

Chet and Cathy J. shared, “Not only were many prayers offered on our behalf, but people here took us to appointments, sent food and cards, emailed, called, and checked on us regularly. This is a very friendly, caring, and loving community. We feel so fortunate to live here.”

“We’re living the good life.”

At the same time, we are freed up from shoveling snow, roof repair, yard care, gutter cleaning, plumbing issues, etc. We’re living the good life.”

“We’re thankful we live at Friendship Village of Dublin because we have met many new friends that we would never have met had we not moved to FVD,” she added. “There is a special bond with friends who experienced the pandemic and are now chatting and laughing together in the Legacy.”

“This is HOME.”

Lu R. said, “Everyone—and I mean everyone—who works here works very hard to keep me happy—and they certainly do succeed. I love living here. This is HOME—the perfect home for me.”
