Supporting Local Education in Dublin and Columbus, Ohio Since 2001
For 25 years, our Dublin Scholarship Program has helped our associates grow, succeed and chase their dreams — all while enriching the lives of our Residents.
Since 2001, we’ve awarded $529,287 in scholarships to student associates and aspiring professionals who provide exceptional care across our campus. Just this year, 34 team members received nearly $120,000 to support their college and career goals.
It’s our way of saying thank you for the care they give, the connections they build and the difference they make in our community.
A Community That Gives Back
What makes our Dublin Scholarship Program so special isn’t just the numbers (though we’re proud of those). It’s the heart behind it.
Over the years, a remarkable 714 donors — including Residents, families, local businesses, and friends — have pitched in to support our students. In 2025, we had 134 generous people help fund this life-changing program. That’s what community looks like.
Here’s what Abbey Kashani Motlagh, one of our scholarship recipients and a four-year associate, said about her experience:
“The Residents, and my coworkers have all changed my life for the better. The community at Friendship Village has believed in me and through this scholarship, I am truly changed.
“I cannot thank FVD leadership enough for what this community has done for me, it really is the gift that keeps giving.”
We hear stories like Abbey’s every year, and each one reminds us why this program matters so much.
Investing in Students from Dublin and Columbus, Ohio
We’re proud to be part of the Dublin, Ohio community — and to welcome student associates from across central Ohio. These young people bring energy, kindness and drive to everything they do.
Many juggle full course loads in high school or college with part-time shifts in our community. They serve meals, assist Residents and lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed — and we’re proud to support them in return.
Friendship Village of Dublin Chief Executive Officer Rita Doherty emphasized the importance of the program.
“At Friendship Village of Dublin, we believe our responsibility extends far beyond exceptional care and placemaking for Residents — we’re also here to help shape the future. By investing in education through our scholarship program, we’re building character, encouraging compassion and supporting the next generation of leaders.
“These young individuals are not only vital to our community today, but they’re also the backbone of tomorrow’s workforce. It’s our honor to play a small role in their journey.”
A Legacy That Keeps Growing
As we celebrate 25 years of giving, we’re more committed than ever to supporting students and building connections between generations. The Dublin Scholarship Program reflects the values that make life at Friendship Village of Dublin so special: community, kindness and opportunity.
Here’s to the next 25 years — and to all the futures we’ll help shape together.
