Are You a Solo Ager?

Senior solo agerSolo agers include anyone aging without family support. This may include:

  • Single people and couples without adult children.
  • Those whose children live far away or are unable to provide support.
  • Older adults with limited nearby family, friends, or caregivers.
  • Couples who recognize that long-term planning cannot rely on assumptions about family support.

Solo aging is less about relationship status and more about how you will obtain support as your needs change. Geber’s work helps people think through these questions early, while choices remain open, so that they can make thoughtful, informed decisions.
