If you see a couple holding hands as they stroll through Friendship Village of Dublin, it may be Jack and Marilyn Pettit — a lovely couple celebrating their sixth year on campus. The duo has been happily married since 1972 and both cite their love for OSU football as the force that brought them together all those years ago.
In addition to celebrating 46 years of marriage, these two lovebirds are also celebrating their 45th anniversary of being OSU season ticket holders. When they met for the first time, one of Marilyn’s first questions for Jack was, “Do you go to the games?” That’s when Jack knew there was something special about Marilyn, and they’ve been together ever since.
While their relationship blossomed from a mutual affinity for sports, their marriage is about more than their love for the game. Together they’ve raised three children and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. Most of all, they still love spending time with one another. Over the years they’ve traveled across the globe and spent many winters in Florida.
When they weren’t on vacation or visiting their grandkids, the Pettits have enjoyed the last five years relaxing at Friendship Village of Dublin. And while they love their spacious apartment and the Village amenities, they say it’s the people that truly make it home.
The Pettits are both part of the FVD hospitality committee and enjoy welcoming new residents to the community. You can also find them in a fitness class, taking the shuttle downtown to enjoy a show or exploring one of Ohio’s many bed and breakfasts.
