For over 40 years, our Friendship and Gratitude philanthropy programs have enhanced the nonprofit mission at Friendship Village of Dublin.

“We often hear that Friendship Village of Dublin is more than a place to live or work. It’s a place to experience a vibrant life that feels like home,” said Betsy Gillespie, Director of Philanthropy. “As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to improve the quality of life of older adults while helping them maintain freedom and independence.”

Through charitable giving through our Friendship and Gratitude program, donors enhance our ability to live this mission every day for the people who call Friendship Village of Dublin home. From our beautiful campus to endless opportunities for joy, each day presents moments that inspire us to give back.

After experiencing life in perfect balance in our community, many Residents and their family members become donors to support our mission. In the video below, Resident Anne Fields describes her journey to living and giving at Friendship Village of Dublin.

“I moved up from Upper Arlington, where I’d lived for a long, long, long time,” she said.
“And I moved into a condo in Dublin. And I was looking down the road – literally, it turned out – thinking about my future. I thought I needed to look for someplace that was more of a continuum-of-care type place like Friendship Village because I was looking for someplace that I could live independently as long as I could.”

“That’s where I still am. I could do assisted living if that time came. And then I could do memory care if I needed to do that.”

“So I called up for an appointment to come look at Friendship Village. I came down to visit with my son and my grandson, who was about seven at the time. My grandson approved because they had a pool. And he was given a little hard hat tour with a little red hard hat, and literally that day I signed the contract.

“When I did move into independent living, everybody was basically moving in at the same time. It reminded me of when I went to a women’s college. It’s like moving into the dorm on the first day. Everybody was like, oh you’re so and so. When I moved into college It was, ‘you brought the record player.'”

“It was really neat to meet all your friends and everything. And I have made a lot of good friends here. The more activities, obviously, that you participate in, the more friends you make.”

“They just keep coming up with more and more imaginative things to do. So it’s a really fun place to be!”

“I give to Friendship Village because it’s made such a difference in my life. Because it’s given so much to me. And now I want it to be able to give to others.”
