Adventure Club Update: Ziplining

Retiree zip lining through woods

The residents at Friendship Village of Dublin had another great Adventure Club outing, this time a ziplining canopy tour at ZipZone Outdoor Adventures located at Camp Mary Orton, just eight miles northeast of our community.

The full tour group of ten residents started the day by gearing up in safety harnesses and helmets before embarking on a two-hour canopy tour. A canopy tour at ZipZone consists of five ziplines and four sky bridges, which connect platforms that are built directly in the trees.

When riding on the ziplines, participants traveled as high up as 150 feet in the air and reached speeds up to 25 miles per hour! They are called the Adventure Club for a reason-these residents enjoy the thrill and exhilaration that comes with adventure and being out in nature.

The Adventure Club has been busy this year with trips including rock climbing at Vertical Adventures, Canoeing at Trapper Joes, and a trip to High Banks Metro Park for fishing, hiking and archery.

The residents at Friendship Village of Dublin are always up for a new, exciting challenge! Keep an eye on this blog to find out what the Adventure Club is doing next.
